John Nichols

1st Place Company Driver of the Month

Congratulations to John Nichols, our July Company Driver of the Month! Since joining Stevens Transport in September 2024 after graduating from C1 Truck Driving School in Fort Worth, John has quickly proven himself to be an outstanding driver, logging an impressive 12,141 miles in July!

He first learned about Stevens Transport through a recruiter at his school and admits he was drawn in by our iconic black trucks. John credits his success to his Driver Trainer, the Safety Department, and the helpful feedback and coaching they provide. He appreciates the quality equipment, well-maintained trailers, and the excellent service from the Paragon team!

His favorite experiences as a professional driver so far include trips to Yellowstone and New York City, allowing him the opportunity to see the beauty across our country. What he enjoys most about being a driver is the solitude of the open road. Outside of work, John enjoys all the time available with his family. He is a proud father and shared that his daughter recently graduated in the top 10 of her class and is heading to the University of Texas! Go Longhorns!

Ken Coats

Runner Up Company Driver of the Month

We are proud to recognize Ken Coats, our Company Driver of the Month Runner-Up. Ken joined Stevens Transport in September 2024 after completing his CDL training at Excel Driving School in San Antonio. In July, Ken logged an impressive 11,765 miles!

Ken came to trucking after a 20-year career in education and was drawn to Stevens by our strong focus on safety and training. Ken is a firm believer that these foundational principles have been essential to his success on the road. He credits the entire Stevens team, including Donna Stephens in Compliance and Driver Manager Lee Williams, for their support and great communication.  Recruited by Daisy Martinez, Ken describes his Stevens Transport experience as “amazing” and values the open-door policy and team-first culture. A meaningful moment for Ken was graduating from his driver training and being recognized by instructors when he returned to the yard. He is grateful for feeling a part of something bigger and is intentional in doing the same for others.

Ken loves having the opportunity to see the country and is committed to lifelong learning. He is pursuing a Master’s degree in Leadership and is thankful to be in an industry that is giving him the financial means to pay for the classes and have the time to do the coursework.

Ricardo Juarez

1st Place Independent Contractor of the Month

We’re happy to recognize Ricardo Juarez, the July Independent Contractor of the Month! Ricardo began his journey with Stevens Transport in June 2024 and transitioned to the Contractor Division in November 2024. He earned his CDL from Pearl Trucking CDL Academy in Laredo, Texas. In July, Ricardo logged an impressive 12,363 miles!

Ricardo joined Stevens Transport in search of better opportunities for his family. He credits his success to being detail-oriented, communicating well with his driver manager and planners, and staying consistent with daily truck inspections.

He values the supportive and team-oriented atmosphere and the genuine inclusion felt across the company. From Driver Managers to Counselors, he appreciates everyone being on the same page. Ricardo appreciates every moment of this journey, especially learning from the different facilitators. From orientation to the last checklist with Instructor Thomas, it has been a “great experience overall.” So far, his favorite part of driving is seeing parts of the country he never had the chance to visit before, and loves being able to experience the diverse weather and scenery. When off the road, Ricardo enjoys reading, music, and spending quality time with his family.

Samuel Asare

Runner-Up Independent Contractor of the Month

Congratulations to Samuel Asare, the July Independent Contractor of the Month Runner-Up! Samuel earned his CDL from Careers Worldwide in Colorado. He joined Stevens Transport in July 2023 and joined the Contractor Division in November 2023. In July, he logged an impressive 12,450 miles!

Originally referred by a friend to the trucking industry, Samuel chose Stevens Transport because of the strong support for Independent Contractors. Coming from a hard-working immigrant family, Samuel credits his drive and discipline to his upbringing. Though he remains humble, his dedication to the industry encourages him to strive for more. Samuel values the flexibility being an independent contractor offers, and the biggest highlight of his journey so far has been earning enough to put a down payment on his own truck, as one of his goals is to be an Owner-Operator!

Outside of work, Samuel is passionate about building computers, making videos, traveling, and life on the road with his dog.

Alexzander Smith

We’re proud to celebrate U.S. Navy Veteran and July New Driver of the Month, Alexzander Smith! Alexzander joined Stevens Transport in April 2025 after earning his CDL through Georgia Driving Academy. In July, he logged an impressive 11,727 miles!

Inspired by his experience driving trucks in the Navy, Alexzander decided to pursue trucking as his next career. He credits his success to the strong support of his wife, with whom he’s also celebrating the arrival of their newborn daughter! He highlighted the support from his Driver Trainer and also Driver Manager (Pio Gonzalez), who he says are always available, professionally and personally. A memorable moment in his journey so far was driving through a cold storage cave in Missouri. Outside of work, Alexzander enjoys video games, connecting with people, and time with his loved ones.

Jimmie and Ann Lewis

We are proud to recognize Jimmie and Ann Lewis, the July Team of the Month! They began their journey with Stevens Transport in 2010. Jimmie earned his CDL through Advanced Truck Driving School in Visalia, CA, and Ann earned hers through Stevens Driving Academy. They became Independent Contractors in November 2010 and have since driven over 3 million miles together, building a successful business and partnership on the road! In July, they logged an impressive 20,980 miles, making them our top team performers for the month!

Ann and Jimmie credit their success to the opportunities provided by Stevens Transport, a perfect pairing to their hard work, strong communication, and dedication to each other and the industry. When not behind the wheel, Jimmie and Ann enjoy fishing, riding motorcycles, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with family.

Lars Johnston

Trainer of the Month

We’re proud to recognize the July Trainer of the Month, U.S. Navy Veteran and Haul of Famer, Lars Johnston! Lars joined Stevens Transport in November 2017 after completing CDL training with Truck Driving Institute in Saucier, Mississippi. Initially coming to the industry to start a new and rewarding career, Lars decided to give back and became a Driver Trainer. Soon after, Lars accomplished his goal of becoming a business owner and became an Independent Contractor in May 2021.

In July, an impressive 18,734 miles were logged, speaking to both his years of experience as a Driver Trainer and his strong commitment to his trainees. He believes it is his duty to ensure they feel comfortable, supported, and prepared for life on the road. He values the recognition and support Stevens Transport offers to the drivers and takes great pride in helping shape the next generation of driving professionals.

When he’s not driving or training, Lars enjoys reading sci-fi, fantasy, and military fiction.

Lewis Greeno

Runner Up Trainer of the Month

We’re pleased to recognize Lewis Greeno, our July Trainer of the Month Runner-Up! A Texas native, Lewis transitioned to the transportation industry after a successful career in warehouse management. When the facility closed, he pursued his CDL at Lone Star College, earning his license in Fall 2020, and soon after joined Stevens Transport.

In July, an impressive 18,438 miles were covered. He credits Field Recruiter Charles Wages for delivering on every promise and helping him launch his new career. Drawing from his management background, Lewis brings structure, leadership, and professionalism to his role as a driver trainer. Outside of work, Lewis enjoys traveling and collecting unique keepsakes from the road.

William Fletcher

1st Place Dedicated Driver of the Month

Image of Alexzander SmithWe’re proud to celebrate U.S. Marine Veteran William Fletcher, our July Dedicated Driver of the Month! William joined Stevens Transport in September 2020 after earning his CDL from Tennessee Truck Driving School in Knoxville. In July, he logged an impressive 13,747 miles!

Being a truck driver runs in William’s family. His father and grandfather were both drivers, and after 20 years working in agriculture and industrial sowing, he made the leap to follow in their footsteps. He credits his success to his family’s support, his strong work ethic, and a never-give-up attitude. William appreciates the strong communication at Stevens Transport and the ability to keep moving efficiently on the road.

During his time in the Marines, William was hired by NASA as a space suit technician, an unforgettable opportunity where he worked hands-on with the astronauts’ space suits. Outside of work, William enjoys attending local wrestling events.

Kurt Bodah

We are proud to recognize One Million Miler Kurt Bodah, the July Dedicated Driver of the Month Runner-Up! Kurt joined the Stevens Transport team in January 2013, after earning his CDL from CDI in Sanford, Florida. In July, he drove an impressive 12,585 miles!

Kurt credits his success to discipline, consistency, and a strong work ethic. He shared that driving over 1.5 million miles across 48 states has taught him that showing up every day with a professional attitude, staying safe, and always being willing to learn are key to a successful and rewarding career. For Kurt, it’s not just about driving. He believes in being dependable, staying humble, and moving forward. He shared that he has learned a lot from being on the road and encourages drivers to stay open to learning.

He appreciates all he has learned over the years and continues to learn each day. His focus on being safe, consistent, and professional has contributed significantly to the successes he has achieved as a professional driver. Outside of work, Kurt enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Robert Belford

Robert joined Stevens Transport in July 1995, after completing CDL training with Stevens Driving Academy. In June, he logged an outstanding 12,276 miles, another shining example of his commitment and discipline that has defined his three-decade career!

Throughout his time with Stevens Transport, Robert has consistently demonstrated excellence behind the wheel. He was named 2020 Driver of the Year, has received multiple Driver of the Month honors, and is one of our most elite drivers, one of only ten, with an outstanding 4 million miles! Robert attributes his continued success to his strong work ethic. When off the road, Robert enjoys gaming and spending quality time with his family.

He attributes his success to not shying away from hard work and maintaining a positive attitude. One of his favorite aspects of being a driver is networking with fellow drivers, expanding his driving community, and helping make the miles even more enjoyable and feel connected.

Outside of work, Robert is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, and also proudly serves as a volunteer firefighter in his community! Robert is committed to serving others on and off the road.

Mason Kitseally

Mason credits Stevens Transport for giving him the opportunity to launch his new career and extends special appreciation to his driver trainer, Jose Anaya, for his mentorship and guidance, and appreciates building camaraderie along the way. Jordan Griffiths

Jordan earned his CDL from Route Ready in Colorado and joined Stevens Transport in March 2025. In June, he logged 10,563 miles, quickly establishing himself as a motivated and dependable driver.

Jordan attributes his success to his determination to stay productive, saying, “I don’t like to sit around. I enjoy being on the go, putting in miles, and making money.” He appreciates how Stevens Transport sets new drivers up for success, from the support through CDL school to the seamless transition into a driving career, followed by the overall benefits offered by the company.

So far, his most memorable moment was completing his driver training and hitting the road solo for the first time. This was a moment of great pride, realizing he had achieved his goal of becoming a professional truck driver. Jordan enjoys the independence and freedom of the road, the ability to travel across the country, and having flexibility in how he gets the job done.

Outside of driving, Jordan enjoys staying active and has even built a 30-minute workout routine into his daily schedule, using his personal weight set and resistance bands he keeps on his truck!

Samantha & Orion Andrew

1st Place Team of the Month

We are proud to recognize Samantha and Orion Andrew, our June Team Drivers of the Month, a fantastic husband-and-wife Team who demonstrate dedication, professionalism, and teamwork on and off the road.

Samantha began her career with Stevens Transport in March 2024, after earning her CDL with Stevens Driving Academy. Before Stevens, Samantha was a school bus driver. That experience and her smooth transition into over-the-road driving laid the foundation for a successful start. In September 2024, after thoughtful discussion about the opportunities in trucking, Orion joined Samantha on the road and earned his CDL through Halliburton. Together, they have built a strong and efficient team logging an incredible 28,858 miles in June!

Samantha credits her success to self-motivation, a commitment to pushing herself each day, and the support of her family. For new drivers, Orion emphasizes the importance of staying focused, doing proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and never hesitating to ask questions when help is needed. Samantha echoes that advice and highlights safety as the best aspect of working with Stevens Transport, noting the company’s strong commitment to keeping drivers safe on the road.

Outside of driving, Orion enjoys fishing, working on cars, playing video games, and spending quality time with their daughter. Samantha enjoys family time, fishing, traveling, and exploring new foods.

Jerome Neal

Owner-Operator of the Month

We are proud to recognize Jerome Neal, June Owner-Operator of the Month! Jerome joined Stevens Transport in December 2018 after completing his CDL training at Carolina CDL in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was drawn to Stevens because of our strong safety culture, training program, and offering the opportunity of a lease-to-purchase program. His goal was to begin with a one-year lease and work toward full ownership, a journey he pursued with focus and determination!

In June, Jerome logged an impressive 11,218 miles! Also a Driver Trainer (3 years), successfully training more than twenty students, he takes great pride in mentoring new drivers, sharing that one trainee was so grateful for the support he received that he was brought to tears. “It makes me feel good,” Jerome said. “Students still call just to check in—it means a lot.”

Jerome credits his success to God first, along with his dedication to leading by example. Outside of driving, Jerome enjoys playing basketball and watching sports, especially baseball, as a dedicated San Francisco Giants fan!

In 2021, leaning into his entrepreneurial spirit, he became an Independent Contractor and also a Driver Trainer! Continuing to build a strong and successful career, in June, an impressive 15,632 miles were logged!

Specializing in training throughout the Southeast region, Jason focuses on providing a strong foundation, emphasizing critical skills such as trip planning, sliding tandems, and conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Jason credits his success to personal determination and the support of the exceptional team at Stevens Transport, especially the Training Department, and in particular, Gloria, who he says does a remarkable job matching trainers and students for success!

Off the road, Jason has a passion for sports cars, enjoys watching football, and spends time outdoors paddleboarding and kayaking in his home state of Florida.

Amondine has been a valued member of the Stevens Transport driving force since November 2020, joining the fleet after earning her CDL from New England Tractor Trailer Training School. She consistently demonstrates excellence as a professional driver, and in June, Amondine logged an impressive 12,611 miles, with a perfect record of on-time pickups and deliveries, truly speaking to her reliability and attention to detail.

When asked to share advice for new drivers, Amondine emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety, “Safety, that’s what I love about Stevens. It’s always safety first. Stevens truly cares about our well-being and has provided the best training to set me up for success. I’m proud to have been named Dedicated Driver of the Month and know I made the right choice in joining this company.”

Jeffrey Depaula

Runner Up Dedicated Driver of the Month

We are proud to recognize Jeffrey Depaula, the June Dedicated Driver of the Month Runner-Up! Jeffrey has been a valued member of the Stevens Transport team since December 2020, earning his CDL from Community College in Richmond, Virginia. In June, he logged an impressive 11,986 miles!

Jeffrey was introduced to Stevens Transport by his brother, a former Stevens Transport driver, who inspired him to pursue a career in the transportation industry. Reflecting on his journey, Jeffrey shared, “I used to work in retail at Target, and this is my first real career. It’s treated me well. The past five years have been a great experience.”

He describes the freedom of the road as a lifestyle shift that has brought him fulfillment and opportunity. He credits much of his success to the guidance and support of several key individuals, including his brother, his driver trainer Jose Alberto, and fellow driver Roberto Santana, who took the time to mentor him and teach him valuable skills for the road. Jeffrey also expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from his driver managers and the entire Stevens team.

Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoys going to the gym, traveling, and exploring different cultures. He loves discovering new places and describes himself as a bit of a tourist at heart. He also enjoys watching movies, with The Godfather being his all-time favorite.

Congratulations to U.S. Navy Veteran Richard Rawlinson, the May Company Driver of the Month Runner-Up! We extend our sincere thanks to Richard for his service to our country and for his continued dedication to excellence on the road. Richard began his journey with Stevens Transport in May 2018 after earning his CDL with Stevens Driving Academy. In May, he logged an impressive 11,557 miles!

His journey with Stevens Transport began in 2000. After a brief departure, Richard returned to Stevens in 2018, and over the course of his driving career, Richard has also served as a Driver Trainer. He finds fulfillment in seeing his trainees succeed, one of whom is paying it forward and has gone on to become a Driver Trainer themselves!

His advice for new drivers: “Take each day one step at a time. There will be good days and bad days, but the good will outweigh the bad.”

Richard enjoys the opportunity to explore the country, with Arizona, Utah, and Colorado ranking as his favorite states because of their scenic beauty. Outside of work, he enjoys playing guitar, writing poetry, playing video games, and spending quality time with his wife.

Described by his peers as driven and dependable, Clayton portrays what it means to be a top-tier professional in the transportation industry. Christopher Kuzara

Congratulations to U.S. Army Veteran Christopher Kuzara, our May Independent Contractor of the Month Runner-Up!

Christopher joined Stevens Transport in March 2023 after earning his CDL from Tennessee Truck Driving School and became an Independent Contractor just three months later. This May, Christopher logged an impressive 12,596 miles!

What started as a steppingstone quickly became something more: “Stevens turned into a family — they always look out for us,” Christopher shared. He values the patience and kindness shown by everyone at Stevens Transport and loves the freedom that comes with life on the road. Also a driver trainer, Christopher has mentored several new driver trainees. He credits his success in the industry to the support from the Stevens Transport Team and fellow drivers and trainers.

Outside of driving, Christopher enjoys video games, hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.

Antwon came to Stevens Transport with a clear goal to change his career, gain financial stability, and create long-term growth. Inspired by his older brother, also a professional driver, Antwon had a head start in understanding the industry and credits much of his early success to that mentorship.

When asked what he enjoys most about Stevens Transport, Antwon highlighted the supportive culture and appreciates the team and fellow drivers. He also enjoys the freedom of traveling across the country and sees even greater financial success on the horizon on his new career path. Outside of work, Antwon enjoys sports, video games, and is actively involved in stock trading.

Sedjro Hounkonnou

Sedjro was drawn to Stevens Transport because of the in-depth training and wanting the independence being a professional driver offers, he enjoys putting into practice what he has learned! He appreciates having the ability to manage his schedule and earn a strong and reliable income. He attributes his success to his determination and mindset of always striving to improve, setting clear goals, and never settling for less.

For new drivers, Sedjro advises having patience on the road and with shippers and receivers, and to being an expert with time management. He appreciates that Stevens Transport provides a strong foundation for success, adding, “They set you up for success, and it’s up to you to make the most of it.”

Sedjro truly enjoys being a professional driver and the open road, and has his next goal set – becoming an owner-operator. Outside of work, Sedjro enjoys listening to music, playing basketball and soccer, taking walks, and staying active at the gym.

The Wheelers have forged a remarkable driving partnership built from the foundations of their marriage, shared goals, and a deep commitment to success.

In May, Christy and Vance logged an impressive 22,109 miles, going above and beyond to earn this recognition! They credit their success to the highly supportive team at Stevens Transport and playing a key role in their growth and success, individually and as a team. Onterio Sutton

We are proud to recognize Four-Million-Mile Haul of Famer, Onterio Sutton, as our May Owner-Operator of the Month! Onterio began his career with Stevens Transport twenty-four years ago, in June 2001, after completing his CDL training at Cowtown Driving School in Fort Worth, Texas. In September 2001, he decided to become an independent contractor, launching his journey as a successful business owner-operator. In 2005, Onterio became a Driver Trainer and has since trained hundreds of drivers, proudly dedicating over 22 years to helping others launch their careers!

In May, Onterio logged an impressive 13,843 miles! He attributes his long-term success to the strong support of Stevens Transport’s leadership and the proactive efforts of his driver managers, who keep him engaged and informed. He values the company’s open-door policy and commitment to clear and effective communication.

One of his proudest career moments was becoming an independent contractor, a moment that marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. Outside of work, Onterio enjoys fishing, playing dominoes, and relaxing to the sounds of gospel, R&B, and Southern soul blues music.

James was introduced to Stevens Transport by a friend who spoke highly of the company’s reliability and commitment to its drivers. He was drawn to the stability Stevens offered and appreciates that the company keeps its drivers moving with consistent miles and dependable equipment.

Over the past year and a half, James has served as a Driver Trainer, mentoring and helping build strong foundations for successful careers. He credits his achievements to maintaining a positive mindset and staying focused on his goals. “Know what you want, stay motivated, and always think about your family,” he says.

That conversation and the gift of a business card motivated Samba to take the steps to begin his career as a professional truck driver.

Clayton has a passion for music and enjoys collecting vinyl records. One of his proudest personal milestones came last year, when he fulfilled a lifelong dream of building his own home. He treasures time spent with his daughter and family.

One of Barry’s long-term goals is to become a Driver Trainer and pay it forward by helping new drivers succeed, just as his trainers helped him. He credits his success to staying focused, keeping a positive mindset, and sticking to the daily plan.

Barry’s favorite part of driving? “Waking up in a different city every other day—it’s bittersweet being away from home, but I’m working for my family’s future and well-being.” He appreciates that Stevens gives him the opportunity to travel the country while building a career. Outside of work, Barry enjoys watching documentaries, reading, and learning about different cultures.

David chose Stevens Transport after recommendations from his CDL school, calling it “…a great place to start a trucking career.” He credits his success to staying focused, being dedicated to success, and keeping his priorities clear. He highlights Stevens’ training program as a key advantage, describing it as very thorough. One of his most memorable moments so far has been getting his truck and heading out solo for the first time.

David’s favorite part of the job is the freedom he feels while on the road and taking in the different parts of the country. When he’s not driving, he enjoys vacationing and spending time with his two kids.

John Rowell & Myles Hunt-Cruz

Congratulations to our April Team of the Month, John Rowell and Myles Hunt-Cruz! John earned his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy, and Myles completed his training at Tampa Truck Driving School in Florida. Together, they logged an outstanding 24,253 miles in April—an incredible accomplishment and shows off their dedication to teamwork!

John joined Stevens Transport for the opportunity to grow in a new career after transitioning from his career as a welder. He planned to pursue something more fulfilling, and he believes he has found it! Myles, formerly an Amazon delivery driver, saw life with a CDL as a chance to build a professional career and succeed in the transportation industry. John credits his success to hard work, commitment, and the strong partnership with Myles. He is also very appreciative of the support they receive from their Driver Manager, George. Myles adds that owning every opportunity to learn has been key in his success! “You will fail. It’s what you learn from it that makes you better.” John and Myles both advise new drivers to stay grounded and practical. “Hang in there. Take it day by day and keep learning,” says John.

Outside the truck, John enjoys hunting and fishing. Myles spends his free time fishing, reading, and studying the trucking industry. As Myles puts it, “Learn something new every day.”

Frank Gaines

Congratulations to Frank Gaines, our April Owner Operator of the Month! Frank has been a dedicated member of the Stevens Transport team since May 2018 and earned his CDL with Diesel Driving Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. In April, he logged an impressive 11,969 miles, demonstrating his drive, commitment to his business, and professionalism in the industry.

Frank spent over 14 years as a hospitality manager before joining the transportation industry. Seeking a change, he turned to Stevens Transport—and hasn’t looked back! “They told me I’d be getting paid to travel, and they were right,” he recalls. Frank has also served as a Driver Trainer (six years), proudly mentoring over 100 students. He finds great purpose in helping others learn the skills needed to succeed in the industry. He credits his success to his faith, attention to detail, and the training and support he receives from Stevens Transport. Frank values Stevens Transport’s commitment to walking alongside the drivers, every step of the way. “When you’re moving forward, they’re right there with you. That kind of support makes success possible.”

Outside the truck, Frank enjoys crossword puzzles, bowling, and recently, picked up skating again.

Congratulations to Bernard Card, our April Dedicated Driver of the Month! Bernard joined Stevens Transport in December 2019 after earning his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy. In April, he ran an impressive 10,824 miles!

Inspired by Stevens Transport’s reputation for helping drivers build successful careers, Bernard knew he had found the right path. Over the past three years, he has trained over 30 students, many of whom have gone on to become trainers themselves. “Some still call to thank me,” he shares. “It’s a great feeling knowing I helped them succeed.”

Bernard credits his success to the simple principle and practice of listening and learning. From classroom training to real-world experience, he remains focused on safety, planning, and the wisdom of other experienced drivers. He encourages all drivers to follow distances, check the weather, and stay informed because it all matters.

Bernard values Stevens Transport for giving people a true opportunity—“They take drivers with zero experience, provide a truck, and help you maintain it. That support makes a difference.” Outside of work, Bernard enjoys water sports, fishing, swimming, chess, and basketball to stay active and balanced.

He also values how Stevens Transport focuses on details, the quality equipment, dependable freight, and driver support. “I get loads delivered on time, and I know how to manage my time. Being an independent contractor gives me the flexibility I need,” he shared.

Please join us in congratulating Stephen Walker, our Independent Contractor of the Month! Stephen earned his CDL from Lone Star and joined Stevens Transport in November 2022. After years as a successful mechanic shop owner, this proud 4th-generation truck driver followed in the footsteps of his mother, father, grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, and got behind the wheel!

In February, Stephen achieved an impressive 12,559 miles! He credits his success to the support of his wife, whose encouragement has been instrumental in many of his achievements. He shared that his key to success has been focusing on miles, not hours. He recommends setting a daily mileage goal and treating any extra miles above the daily goal as a bonus. This concept has helped him be successful in his business while also maintaining a flawless service record. Stephen also highlighted Aileen Lucas, a CSR in the Protein Department, and appreciates her trust, support, and assistance with on-time deliveries. One of Stephen’s favorite parts of being a driver is the opportunity to travel to Utah because of its unmatched beauty. Outside of work, Stephen cherishes spending time with his family and is proud of his nine children, ranging in age from 18-34.

Russell believes that managing time effectively is key to success — and if you can do that, financial success will follow! He attributes his motivation to his grandchild, who means the world to him. His mantra is -never give up and always try something new daily. Russell appreciates the proactive business approach by Stevens Transport, and his Driver Manager, Owen Eckblad, who has been a great support. Outside of work, Russell is passionate about cooking—especially homemade pasta, seafood, and grilling. As a skilled pit master, he enjoys creating dishes like smoked Alfredo sauce, often serving them in cast iron skillets! He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and any activity that allows him to connect with the outdoors.

Tobey was inspired to become a professional driver by his father, who had a 40-year career as a truck driver. He credits his father’s example for teaching him that driving is an honest and valuable living. He is grateful for the support from his wonderful parents, and his faith in God. The comprehensive training he received is the foundation for his success. Bryan’s decision to join Stevens Transport was driven by his faith. When he began praying for a career change, the opportunity arose and he credits his success to the Lord, who he believes always places him exactly where he needs to be. Bryan’s advice to new drivers is to network and connect with everyone when they first come to Stevens. Learning from others’ experiences and sharing your own, helps you grow into a better driver. He is thankful for the financial rewards that have enabled him to help many people. Bryan is actively involved in five different churches and feels very blessed.

Outside of work, Tobey enjoys working with metal, riding bicycles, and participating in water sports at the beach. Bryan enjoys resting and recharging to prepare for the next journey.

Rodney’s journey with Stevens Transport began in November 2010, after a successful career in the construction industry, and first became intrigued by Class 8 trucks. Recognizing it was time for a career change, Rodney pursued his CDL at Georgia Driving Academy (GDA), and with his training in hand, he joined Stevens Transport to take the next step in his career and became an Independent Contractor in August 2011.

In February, Rodney drove an impressive 10,401 miles, continuing to demonstrate his commitment to excellence. Building on the foundation of skills and knowledge gained at GDA, Rodney chose Stevens Transport for its comprehensive training programs and the vast opportunities it offers. Rodney’s passion for sharing his knowledge led him to spend 8 years as a Driver Trainer, where he mentored and guided GRAD drivers, helping them develop the skills necessary for success. An incredibly successful business owner, 2 Million Mile Haul of Famer, and inspiration to many, Rodney continues to be a great representative of Stevens Transport! Outside of his work on the road, Rodney enjoys spending quality time with his five children, cherishing moments of relaxation and family life.

Please join us in congratulating Adrian Chaney, our February Trainer of the Month! Adrian has been a valued member of Stevens Transport since November 2020 and received his CDL from Georgia Driving Academy in Columbus, Georgia. Adrian had always wanted to be in transportation. After earning his degree in engineering and enjoying a successful career, he decided to change career paths, —a decision he considers one of the best he ever made.

Over the past four years, Adrian has found great satisfaction in training new drivers, watching them succeed, and creating rewarding careers for themselves! He credits his success to the guidance of two outstanding mentors, Joe Deshawn and Lenard, who played a significant role in his development as a driver, trainer, and his willingness to ask questions. Adrian appreciates Stevens Transport for the opportunities available to drivers and the emphasis placed on safety during the school training program. He is grateful for the relationships he has built with his fellow trainers that have not only enriched his professional life but have also contributed to his growth and success in the industry. Adrian enjoys experiencing new places and often considers himself a “tourist”. Outside of work, Adrian enjoys gardening and time with his three children, two daughters (14 and 10) and son (9). Spending time with his family is a top priority, and Adrian cherishes every moment with them.

For John, being a Driver Trainer is not just a job; it is an extension of his character, and he takes this responsibility very seriously.
John’s advice for new drivers is simple yet effective: “You’ll learn and figure it out. Don’t just believe you have to know everything upfront… and never stop learning.” He has mentored nearly 20 trainees already and has great appreciation for Stevens Transport and Stevens Driving Academy. He credits the program for much of his success and believes Stevens Driving Academy provides an unparalleled foundation for individuals new to the industry. Outside of work, John has recently taken up golf. After purchasing his golf clubs, he enjoys spending his free time at the golf course and learning more about his new hobby!

Jose has been a member of Stevens Transport since July 2008, after receiving his CDL training at Metropolitan Trucking in Miami, Florida. Jose transitioned to the contractor division shortly after joining Stevens Transport and values the freedom of managing his own business and making independent decisions.

In February, Jose covered an impressive 12,972 miles! He appreciates the supportive platform the Stevens Transport Contractor Division provides, enabling all drivers to be successful in their careers. Jose has enjoyed every moment of being a professional driver, having now driven over 1.7 million miles! His most cherished destinations are Hoover Dam in Nevada and witnessing the beauty of Niagara Falls while driving through Canada. Outside of work, Jose enjoys spending quality time with his family.

We are pleased to recognize Million Mile Haul of Famer Edward Wilburn, our Dedicated Driver of the Month Runner-Up! Edward joined Stevens Transport in November 2006 after earning his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy. Before getting his CDL, Edward was a forklift operator. His cousin (and driver for Stevens), encouraged him to learn about the opportunities available with Stevens Transport.

In February, Edward covered an impressive 12,121 miles! He credits his success to the support of his family, particularly his wife and 13-year-old son. As he puts it, “I do what I do to maintain the responsibilities of my family.” He values the incredible support given to the drivers and the relationships he has built with his colleagues and driver manager. Edward’s favorite part of being a driver is the time it gives him for self-reflection. Outside of work, he enjoys relaxing on the couch, watching great TV shows, attending livestock shows, and spending quality time with his family—especially hosting BBQs and supporting all the activities his son enjoys!

Image of Shannon Caldwell We are pleased to announce Shannon Caldwell is our January Company Driver of the Month! Shannon joined Stevens Transport in June 2024 after completing his CDL training at Arbuckle Truck Driving School in Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

In January, Shannon drove an impressive 11,816 miles, reflecting his dedication and strong work ethic. He attributes his success to the support of his Driver Manager, Shanel Ramos, and believes having a great Driver Manager can make all the difference. Shannon appreciates the beautiful fleet and attention to equipment and technology by Stevens Transport. He also values the friendships he’s made here and the community he continues to build. Shannon’s favorite aspect of being a driver is enjoying the independence and finds it a fulfilling and straightforward career because hard work simply leads to rewarding miles.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys golfing and fishing. He cherishes spending quality time with his 6-year-old daughter and recently celebrated her birthday with family on February 13th.

Andres Perez-Rodriguez

Congratulations to Haul of Fame Million Miler, Andres Perez-Rodriguez, our January Company Driver of the Month Runner-Up! Andres started his career with Stevens Transport in October 2001 and earned his CDL with Stevens Driving Academy.

Andres is a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the U.S. National Guard. In 1999, as Andres considered re-enlisting, he explored new career opportunities. He reached out to a Stevens recruiter and embarked on a new path! In January, Andres covered an impressive 11,548 miles! He attributes his success to consistently following instructions, doing the right thing, and maintaining strong integrity.

Andres values Stevens Transport’s commitment to the drivers and supporting them in many ways, oftentimes, above and beyond what someone would expect. Stevens Transport has also provided the opportunity to make his dream of traveling to all 50 states a reality. When asked about his favorite part of being a driver, Andres shares, “Everything! I can be my own boss, manage my time, and rest without distractions.” He emphasizes that it isn’t all for the money—he’s in it for the joy of the journey.

Outside of work, Andres enjoys traveling the world, maintaining his fitness, and living a healthy lifestyle. He strongly believes that taking care of yourself today will ensure your body will take care of you tomorrow. He also enjoys playing chess and spending time in nature.

Please join us in congratulating Haul of Fame Million Miler, Ralph Jennings, our Independent Contractor of the Month! Ralph earned his CDL from Roadmaster in Jacksonville, Florida, and joined Stevens Transport in January 2011.

In January, Ralph covered a very impressive 13,024 miles and continues to maintain a flawless service record! Motivated by his great training experience, Ralph spent many years as a Driver Trainer, dedicated to teaching new students in the same way he was taught. He finds great fulfillment in seeing the accomplishments of the students he trained. Ralph appreciates Stevens Transport’s commitment to safety and having the best equipment on the road. One of his most memorable moments with Stevens was his Million Mile milestone and accomplishment, his induction into the Haul of Fame in 2018!

Ralph attributes much of his success to Stevens Transport, for providing him with the opportunities and support to enhance his skillset and showcase his abilities. He is thankful for Mr. Steve Aaron and his vision for building Stevens Transport.

Outside of work, Ralph enjoys being a DJ and playing great music for people to enjoy. He previously worked at radio stations and continues to share his passion for music as often as he can.

One of his favorite aspects of being a driver is the opportunity to explore the country. Before becoming a driver for Stevens, he rarely left Louisiana, and now he enjoys driving through the mountains and taking in the beautiful scenery.

Please join us in congratulating Antonio Hale and Casey Hicks, our January Team Drivers of the Month! Antonio began his career with Stevens Transport in December 2013 after earning his CDL from Careers Worldwide, while Casey joined the team in August 2023 after graduating from Georgia Driving Academy. Together, they achieved an impressive 23,637 miles in January, placing them among the top teams within the company.
Antonio, a former Driver Trainer and appreciative of the different opportunities available to drivers, wanted to try Team Driving. He attributes his success to the strong support he receives from the Contractor Division Business Advisors and the company’s clear messaging of the importance of safety and other processes. His advice to new drivers is straightforward, “Follow the system. Work the system the way it’s designed. It’s designed for your success—don’t try to change it.” Antonio also highlights the community atmosphere at Stevens Transport, where he has always felt treated with respect and care.

Casey, who previously worked in sales, joined Stevens to learn a new skill, travel, and shift his career trajectory. He credits his success to the transparency and effective training provided by his Driver Trainers. For new drivers, his advice is to embrace the rigorous and essential training process.

Outside of work, Casey is a skilled musician, proficient in guitar, piano, and drums, and enjoys reading. Antonio is a Grill Master who participates in BBQ competitions! He also and enjoys fishing in his free time. We are incredibly proud of Antonio and Casey’s achievements and look forward to their continued success.

Jarrod Bettis

We are proud to congratulate Jarrod Bettis, our January Owner-Operator of the Month! Jarrod has been a valued member of the Stevens Transport team since August 2022, after earning his CDL from Careers Worldwide.

In January, he drove an impressive 12,959 miles, securing his spot among the top Owner-Operators. Before becoming an Owner-Operator, Jarrod spent time as a Driver Trainer. He credits his success in his new career to his strong work ethic, stating, “I know how to work. You have to have the drive and willpower to succeed.” Jarrod’s advice for new drivers is simple but effective: “Be careful, pay attention, stay safe, and you’ll be successful.”

After his mother’s passing and having a new perspective on life, Jarrod retired from a 20-year corporate career in a different industry to do something he’s always wanted – drive. He reflects on his new career journey saying, “After being in one career for so long, it’s been amazing to see and experience so much in this new field. It’s beautiful out here!” Jarrod appreciates that Stevens Transport provides all the necessary tools and support for success and feels encouraged every day. “They teach you everything you need to know, and they fight for you. The people you call are always there to help, especially Manny Espinoza—he will guide you in the right direction. Stevens won’t let you fail; and unlike other companies that are sink or swim, Stevens carries you.”

Jarrod’s favorite part of being a driver is the opportunity to drive the country, explore new places, and enjoy diverse cuisines. Outside of work, Jarrod enjoys embracing life’s beautiful experiences and making the most of his time.

Mario is a dedicated Driver Trainer who achieved an outstanding 22,282 miles in January! Over the course of his career, Mario has trained over 215 new drivers, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in both driving and mentorship. Mario is highly regarded as one of our most consistent Independent Contractors at Stevens Transport. His intelligence, grounded demeanor, and goal-oriented mindset make him a dependable and trusted figure for many. Throughout his tenure as a trainer, he has not only imparted invaluable driving knowledge and business acumen, he also maintains his stellar reputation among customers, fellow drivers, and the entire Stevens Transport team.

For Mario, driving is not just a job—it’s a daily opportunity for growth and success. With a disciplined and steadfast approach, he lives by the belief that clear goals can position individuals to achieve their desired outcomes. This philosophy is reflected in his daily routine, if it’s maintaining a healthy lifestyle on the road or consistently driving toward his personal and professional success. Although Mario holds a special fondness for the Pacific Northwest, he embraces every destination as his favorite, inspired by his personal mantra: “…just go.” This drive, both literal and figurative, fuels his passion for the open road and continues to motivate him toward new achievements.

Helping others is truly fulfilling for Bobby and his philosophy is simple: “If you’re able to give back, do so.” He is committed to mentoring students and works to be as available as possible for all trainees. Bobby learned valuable information from David Arriasola, his Driver Trainer, with whom he occasionally stays in touch. He also attributes his success to a focused and strong mindset. Bobby advises new drivers to always strive to do things the best way possible, ensuring safety and productivity. He emphasizes that success is achievable with dedication.

For Bobby, one of the best aspects of Stevens Transport is the company’s diversity and the opportunity to travel to any city. He appreciates the comfort of communicating with planners and being an active participant in the planning process. His favorite part of being a driver is the opportunity to experience the beauty of the U.S., appreciating the changing scenery as he travels to different locations every day. Outside of work, Bobby enjoys gaming, fishing, and camping.

TA exemplifies excellence in his driving career. TA has spent time as a Driver Trainer and a member of the Kraft Dedicated fleet. Both contributing to and shaping his career and expertise in great ways. Close to reaching the next milestone of two million miles, TA focuses exclusively on local routes. He attributes his success to his passion for the job, noting that he finds enjoyment in his work, and enjoys the opportunity to travel and explore new places. His advice to new drivers is to familiarize themselves with the system, remain adaptable to the varied nature of the job, and focus on completing each trip successfully and to the best of their ability. He emphasizes the importance of rest, and a good night’s sleep is crucial for success on the road.

TA highlights Stevens Transport’s swift response in communication and enjoys the high quality of the equipment. He greatly appreciates the cutting-edge technology that Stevens provides, which enhances his driving experience.

When off the road, TA enjoys golf, watching movies, attending concerts, and going to sporting events, particularly basketball and Texas Rangers games.

Sean’s advice to new drivers is simple: “Take your time. Success won’t happen all at once. Stay careful on the road, get the job done, and you will succeed.” Sean’s favorite part of working for Stevens Transport is the company’s commitment to success, with reliable, efficient trucks equipped with the latest technology. He appreciates the hospitality and kindness shown by the Stevens Transport staff, having made a lasting impression on him. Sean’s favorite aspect of being a driver is transporting freight across the states and the ability to enjoy the changing landscapes of different cities.

Outside of work, Sean is an adventure enthusiast who enjoys riding dirt bikes, motorcycles, and skydiving—he describes them as exhilarating experiences and everyone should try them! Fun fact, he has also had the unique opportunity to fly an airplane.

Congratulations to Steven Hoy, our Company Driver of the Month Runner-Up! Steven started his career with Stevens Transport in June 2024 and earned his CDL with Stevens Driving Academy. In December, Steven covered an impressive 11,316 miles! He attributes his success to being adaptable to situations, staying aware, and being efficient. He also emphasizes the importance of staying focused and knowing your strengths.

Steven highly recommends Stevens Driving Academy, noting that their training program was one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences in all of his careers. He highlights the value of safety features like weather alerts and the Netradyne camera system, as crucial tools for driver security, personally and on the road. His most memorable experience has been working with and learning from Tyricko Duckett, an instructor who has had a significant impact on his growth. “Tyricko is an excellent teacher. The turning technique he shared with me was invaluable,” says Steven. For Steven, the best part of being a driver is the opportunity to explore new places and see different sights while traveling across the country. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, fishing, and his passion for cooking—particularly making homemade Alfredo sauce from scratch.

KJ earned his CDL from Houston Community College and has been a valued member of Stevens Transport since October 1997. In December, he logged an impressive 11,578 miles and maintained a perfect service record!

KJ’s path to the transportation industry was influenced by his father and brother, both professional drivers. After a four-year career as a police officer, he decided to follow the family path and pursue transportation. He attributes his success to hard work, continuous learning, and a commitment to professional growth. He advises new drivers to take their time, learn the business thoroughly, and focus on doing something they love. “If you’re not learning something new every day in this field, then you’re not advancing,” believes KJ. His most memorable experience at Stevens has been witnessing the company’s growth, noting the respect and dignity drivers receive. He particularly values the company’s open-door policy. Outside of work, Kelvin enjoys traveling, staying fit through regular exercise, and cherishing time with his family.

A longtime resident of Arlington, Texas, Kyle was drawn to Stevens Transport after years of seeing the company’s trucks on the road. His driving skills are characterized by his strong commitment to safety, following the trip planning details, and always staying aware of his surroundings. Kyle advises new drivers to focus on staying dedicated and continuing learning, highlighting the ongoing demand for skilled professionals in the industry. One of Kyle’s most memorable moments at Stevens was driving out of the gates with his first solo load and knowing he made a great career decision. Outside of work, Kyle enjoys bass fishing and disc golf, two of his favorite pastimes.

In December, he achieved an impressive 12,352 miles and attributes some of his success to his love of learning. Since receiving his CDL, he has enjoyed learning about the industry, being a professional driver, and noting tips along the way, to help him be efficient and maximize miles. As he works daily to improve and hone his skills, his advice to new drivers is to stay committed and persistent.

One of Yan’s favorite aspects of being a driver has been meeting diverse people, making new friends, and enjoying time with them. One of the things he appreciates the most about Stevens Transport is the consistent availability of loads—when he completes one, he is sure to be ready to go with another. His favorite part of being a driver is the opportunity to travel to any state. Outside of work, Yan enjoys hiking and camping.

Daniel came to Stevens Transport after a career change, having previously worked in retail management for a large box chain.

Encouraged by his wife, he researched transportation companies and chose Stevens Transport for the many opportunities available. He attributes his success to persistence, staying focused, and pushing forward without letting distractions get in the way. Daniel’s favorite aspect of being a driver is the freedom it provides, the autonomy of the open road, and the ability to embrace new adventures. They attribute their success to their strong faith, saying, “Wherever God leads, we go.” They encourage new drivers to ensure becoming a professional driver is the right career for them, as it is a lifestyle that requires adjustment and commitment. Aqutavia emphasizes the importance of trip planning, while Roderick stresses the value of patience, staying aware of your surroundings, and maintaining professionalism at all times. We are pleased to congratulate Kirk Smith, our December Owner-Operator of the Month! Kirk has been a valued member of the Stevens Transport team since June 2005, after graduating with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy. In December, he drove an impressive 13,863 miles, securing his place among the top Owner-Operators.

Kirk was inspired to pursue a career in trucking by his father, Owen Smith, who has been a longtime driver with Stevens. Over his 20-year career, Kirk also spent 10 years as a driver trainer. He attributes much of his success to his father, saying, “I’ve always wanted to follow in his footsteps. He’s one of the most successful drivers at Stevens, and I strive to be like him.”

Kirk’s advice for new drivers is to truly embrace the profession and have a passion for being behind the wheel. He believes that success in trucking requires patience and the right mindset. For Kirk, the best part about Stevens Transport is the sense of support—he appreciates that he can reach out to anyone at Stevens for assistance when needed. The breathtaking sunrise while driving down a mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, and the freedom of the open road are some of Kirk’s favorite aspects of being a professional truck driver. When not on the road, he enjoys installing car audio sound systems and is an avid music lover.

This four time recognized Haul of Fame member, is known for his determination, combined with a passion for success and helping others, has made him one of the top trainers in Stevens Transport’s history. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gerald is a devoted father, husband, and friend who treats everyone around him like family. His influence extends well beyond the road, having helped countless new drivers build successful careers at Stevens Transport. Outside of work, Gerald enjoys traveling and time with family.

Ghiyath “Gus” Haiek

Please join us in congratulating Ghiyath “Gus” Haiek, our Trainer of the Month Runner-Up! For 19 years, Gus has been an integral member of the Stevens Transport team, after graduating from United States Truck Driving School and in December, an impressive 16,373 miles was logged!

This three-million-mile member of our Haul of Fame, Gus ranks among our most skilled drivers in the industry. Throughout his nearly two decade-long career as a driver trainer, he has successfully mentored over 200 students, helping them transition into confident, independent drivers. He encourages his trainees to continue learning about the industry, driving, and even your truck! Prior to transportation, Gus was an attorney in his home country of Siria. Upon coming to the US, he started in construction but notes if he could do it again, he would have started in transportation. Outside of work, Gus enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family.

Robert “Bob” Velme

We are proud to recognize Robert “Bob” Velme as our Dedicated Driver of the Month Runner-Up! Bob joined Stevens Transport in May 2008 after earning his CDL from Lonestar College (fka Houston Community College). In December, he drove an impressive 13,005 miles, showcasing his commitment and professionalism. Bob is a two-million-miler in our Haul of Fame and also served as a Driver Trainer for seven years, during which he mentored around 20 drivers. He attributes his success to the many opportunities the company offers to excel.

One of Bob’s most memorable moments at Stevens Transport was reaching his first million miles. Now a two-million-miler, he commented he was so surprised, he double-checked his mileage to confirm the milestone. Bob is appreciative of the recognition and the support of Robert Solimani and the team. Bob advises new drivers to always prioritize safety, do things properly, and never hesitate to ask for help. He also encourages everyone to seek guidance for success. His favorite part of being a driver is the ever-changing scenery from his “office window,” appreciating the vastness and beauty of the country. Outside of work, Bob enjoys reading, motorcycle riding, and many outdoor activities.

In November, Alberto ran 10,053 miles! He is deeply grateful for the support he has received at Stevens Transport, which has played a pivotal role in helping him achieve significant milestones in his career, including his recognition in the Stevens Transport Haul of Fame for reaching 1 million miles! From a young age, Alberto has aspired to be a professional truck driver, and his passion for the profession remains strong. He continues to enjoy the open road, taking in the breathtaking landscapes across the country, with a particular fondness for the winter beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Outside of his trucking career, Alberto values creating lasting memories and spending time with his family, especially fishing with his granddaughter.

Daniel Matanane

Our Company Driver of the Month Runner-Up is Daniel Matanane! Daniel, a US Navy Veteran, proudly served his country for 15 years with honor. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Daniel for his service and contributions to our nation. Daniel has been a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since August 2023. He received his CDL from Careers World Wide. Over the month of November, Daniel was able to run 10,463 miles. He attributes much of his success to Careers Worldwide and the guidance of his trainer, Herman. Daniel’s advice to new drivers is, “Don’t let the challenges of your first three months discourage you. The first two months are the toughest, but it gets easier, and you’ll start to enjoy the journey.” His goal as a driver is to maximize his earnings to support his loved ones. He was drawn to Stevens by a strong desire to provide for his family, particularly motivated by his wife’s physical limitations. For Daniel, the most rewarding part of being a driver is the freedom to manage his own schedule and is one of the aspects Daniel values most about Stevens Transport. He deeply appreciates the ability to be home when it matters most and having the flexibility to schedule his home time when needed. Outside of work, Daniel has a strong passion for construction and enjoys hands-on projects.

Jamal Hoskins

Jamal, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since February of 2024, earned his CDL from Georgia Driving Academy. In November, Jamal ran 11,901 miles and maintained a perfect service record! Jamal’s motivation to become a truck driver stemmed from his desire to explore the country. He believes that his core values have been key to his success in the industry, and he is incredibly grateful for the career opportunity that has allowed him to pursue his passion. His advice to new drivers is to always be prepared for any situation that may arise on the road. “If you’re ready, you won’t have to get ready,” he advises. One of the aspects Jamal appreciates most about Stevens Transport is the comprehensive safety policies in place, ensuring a secure working environment. A particularly memorable moment in his career was completing his 240 hours of training, a significant milestone and accomplishment. For Jamal, the most rewarding part of being a driver is the opportunity to visit and experience the beautiful parts of the U.S. he had never seen before—a truly amazing experience. Outside of work, Jamal values spending quality time with his children and cherishes having the moments.

He emphasizes the importance of learning from experience to avoid repeating mistakes. His advice to new drivers is to remain patient, not to be too hard on themselves, take things slow, plan well, and conduct thorough research. What he values most about Stevens Transport is the comprehensive, hands-on training. His most memorable moment with the company was completing training and beginning his solo driving career. Christopher’s favorite part of being a driver is exploring the country, experiencing diverse states, and atmospheres, and meeting new people. Outside of work, Christopher enjoys gaming, attending car shows and meets, working on his sports car, and expanding his automotive knowledge.

During November, he drove an impressive 9,319 miles! Eucordea joined Stevens Transport in search of better career opportunities and the potential to own his own business. Previously working as a logistics coordinator, he sought personal growth and advancement. His brother-in-law, a Stevens driver for over eight years, introduced him to the company. Eucordea credits his success to adhering to Stevens’ policies, prioritizing safety, staying knowledgeable, and understanding the importance of his role. His advice to new drivers is to approach the job with a clear mind, stay focused, and take the time to do things properly. What he values most about Stevens Transport is the quality and maintenance of the equipment, which ensures it is always in top operational condition. One of his fondest memories at Stevens is spending four weeks in training, meeting new people from diverse backgrounds, and reconnecting with them on the road after graduation. Eucordea’s favorite part of being a driver is traveling and experiencing parts of America he had never visited before. Among his favorite places are Oakland and Sacramento, particularly for the delicious Mexican food, and especially the burritos. Outside of work, Eucordea enjoys gaming, participating in family-oriented events, and spending quality time with his children and family during outings

Jkhai, originally from Long Island, New York, was drawn to Stevens in search of a new opportunity, discovering the company through Indeed and deciding to pursue the chance. He credits his success to the guidance of his trainers, the support of the staff, adherence to Stevens’ policies, and the encouragement from his family. His advice to new drivers is to pursue their goals, remain patient, and take their time to feel comfortable with their journey. What Jkhai values most about Stevens Transport is the excellent communication; he appreciates the ease with which he can reach someone whenever he needs assistance. One of his most memorable experiences at Stevens is meeting new people at the yard, building a strong relationship with his trainer, and finally getting his own truck. Jkhai’s favorite part of being a driver is the opportunity to travel across the U.S., enjoying the diverse scenery and sightseeing along the way. Before teaming up, Brayan was also a driver trainer. He credits their success to their strong partnership, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration. Brayan’s advice to new drivers is to drive as much as possible while prioritizing safety and professionalism. Jose was drawn to Stevens Transport because of his aspiration to become a truck driver. Before joining Stevens, he drove trucks hauling dirt and after research, discovered Stevens and appreciated the opportunity they provided. Jose values the responsibility that comes with being a driver, emphasizing the need to always keep safety in mind and consider the well-being of the public. His advice for new drivers is to truly want to be a driver, understand the sacrifices of being away from family, and to stay calm in challenging situations. Outside of work, Brayan enjoys spending time with his family and playing the guitar. Jose values family time as well and enjoys trying new restaurants with his loved ones.

Jesus Ortega

We are thrilled to congratulate Jesus Ortega, our November Owner-Operator of the Month! Jesus has been an integral member of the Stevens Transport team since January 1995, having graduated with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy. In November, he drove an impressive 10,524 miles, placing him among the top Owner-Operators! Over the course of his nearly 30-year career with Stevens Transport, he has had over 4 million accident-free miles, recognition as a Four Million Mile Haul of Famer, and a Driver Trainer for 26 years!  Jesus has trained over 200 drivers and mentored even more. He exemplifies all the characteristics of a professional driver. Jesus was also one of the first Independent Contractors when the division was launched! He was drawn to Stevens with the goal of paying for his college education, a major motivator and one that created a rewarding 30-year career. He credits his success to having a strong support system at home and maintaining a focus on safety. He believes that in your first year, you’ll discover whether you truly love the profession, and prioritize safety, avoid overthinking, and understand that the first year can be challenging. Jesus emphasizes that there are abundant opportunities in the trucking industry. One of his most memorable experiences at Stevens was when a recruiter, Shelby, went above and beyond to ensure he got home to El Paso to spend time with his family. As an Owner/Operator, Jesus’ favorite part is the ability to create his own schedule. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.

Throughout his time as a trainer, Andy has successfully trained over 50 students. He credits his success to staying motivated and a strong awareness to maximize his earnings. His advice to new drivers is to be patient and take it one day at a time, emphasizing the importance of skill building. What Andy values most about Stevens Transport are the financial and growth opportunities and the supportive staff. One of his most memorable experiences with Stevens was paying off his first truck and receiving the title for it. Outside of work, Andy enjoys attending Dallas Cowboys games, working on his Dodge Hellcat, and doing home improvements on his home in Texas.

After researching top training programs, she chose Stevens for its reputation of being one of the best in the industry. She credits her success to the support of her family, especially her mother, who cares for her children while she’s on the road. Her mother’s prayers and encouragement play a significant role in her success. Her advice to new drivers is to trust in God, believe in themselves, and find their “why”, along with a strong support team. What Tiffany values most about Stevens is its comprehensive training program, which thoroughly prepares drivers for the road. She also appreciates the Safety Department’s commitment to ensuring the company’s consistently high-quality, well-maintained safety measures and equipment, especially in winter weather. Tiffany’s most memorable moments at Stevens include being recognized as Driver of the Month in November, which made her feel supported and acknowledged, as well as the day she completed her training and received her truck. She recalls her first trip to California, the breathtaking sight of the mountains, and sunset in Albuquerque while training. Tiffany’s favorite part of being a driver is the freedom and time to reflect, finding peace, and being closer to God while on the open road. Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys gardening, knitting, and doing hair for others.

Larry Wheeler

1st Place Company Driver of the Month

Congratulations to Larry Wheeler, the Stevens Transport Company Driver of the Month! Larry joined Stevens Transport in August 2023. He received his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy. In the month of October, Larry ran 12,871 miles! Larry is deeply grateful to his brother, Vance, for encouraging him to pursue a career as a truck driver. Looking back, Larry wishes he had started sooner, and credits much of his success to Vance’s guidance. “He helped me eliminate distractions and provided valuable counseling,” Larry explains. “Failure was never an option once I was determined to reach my goals.” For new drivers, Larry’s advice is simple: “Learn the hours of service, and truly love the job. It’s the key to being successful.” He also emphasizes that mistakes are part of the learning process—”Everyone makes them, but that’s what helps you grow.” One of the aspects Larry values most about driving for Stevens Transport is the opportunity to travel the country and get paid for it. “The support team is exceptional,” he adds. “They’re always there to help when you need it.” Larry’s favorite part of the job is the open road and the chance to experience parts of the country he wouldn’t otherwise see.  Outside of work, Larry enjoys cars, attending car shows, and listening to a wide variety of music.

Elijah Wallis

Runner Up Company Driver of the Month

Our Company Driver of the Month Runner-Up is Elijah Wallis! Elijah has been a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since December 2021. He graduated from Diesel Driving Academy with his CDL. Over the month of October, Elijah was able to run 12,464 miles. Elijah was drawn to Stevens Transport after leaving his previous jobs in security and working at a sugar plant in New Orleans. A former co-worker suggested he consider becoming a truck driver, and it proved to be a pivotal recommendation. One of the aspects Elijah appreciates most about Stevens Transport is the company’s commitment to safety. “The safety program is top-notch,” he explains. “Stevens really focuses on doing things the right way to prevent issues.” Elijah’s favorite memory from his time at Stevens is the fun and camaraderie he experienced during training. “The instructors have a great sense of humor, which makes the classes enjoyable and helps make learning easier.” What Elijah enjoys most about being a driver is the freedom to manage your schedule. Outside of work, Elijah enjoys playing games and watching movies and YouTube videos. He also stays active by playing basketball.

Jerald Gross

1st Place Independent Contractor of the Month

Please join us in congratulating our Independent Contractor of the Month, Jerald Gross. Jerald, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since October of 2018, graduated from Stevens Driving Academy with his CDL. In October, Jerald ran 14,248 miles and maintained a perfect service record!  Shortly after completing his training, Jerald joined the Independent Contractor (IC) division at Stevens Transport and has never looked back. Over the years, he has become a key member of the elite trainer team, helping to mentor and train the next generation of Stevens drivers. Jerald attributes his success to his disciplined, driven, and goal-oriented approach to his work. The freedom of the open road and the opportunity to experience scenic views were key motivators that led Jerald to pursue a career in truck driving. For those considering the profession, Jerald advises new drivers to carefully evaluate whether this career path aligns with their personal aspirations, recognizing that it may not be the right fit for everyone. One of the aspects Jerald appreciates most about Stevens Transport is the strong sense of camaraderie within the company. “The supportive environment at Stevens is truly one of its standout qualities,” he notes. Outside of work, Jerald enjoys hunting and riding motorcycles, making the most of his time off to unwind and pursue his personal passions.

Kendrick Booker

Runner-Up Independent Contractor of the Month

image of Kendrick BookerOur Independent Contractor of the Month Runner-Up is Kendrick Booker! Kendrick has been a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since November of 2021­ and graduated with his CDL from Lonestar! In October, Kendrick was able to run 13,843 miles, earning him this great award! Kendrick was introduced to Stevens Transport through a friend who shared information about the excellent career opportunities available. He credits his success to his hard work, focus, dedication, and consistency, which have been key factors in achieving his goals. For new drivers, Kendrick advises them be patient, stay vigilant, and take the time necessary to learn and grow in the profession. “It’s a journey that requires persistence and attention to detail,” he notes. One of Kendrick’s most memorable moments at Stevens was the day he graduated and officially became a CDL driver. “That was a defining moment in my career,” he recalls. What Kendrick enjoys most about being a driver is the on-the-road experience—seeing new sights and experiencing things he never thought he would. “The opportunity to witness so many different places and landscapes is truly rewarding,” he says. Outside of his professional life, Kendrick enjoys taking care of his kids and being a family man.

Carl Rykard

1st Place Grad Driver of the Month

Please join us in congratulating our New Grad Driver of the Month, Carl Rykard! Carl joined Stevens Transport in June of 2024, and graduated with his CDL from the Troops Into Transportation Program! During October, he drove an impressive 10,942 miles. Shortly after receiving his CDL, Carl was contacted by a recruiter with Stevens Transport and the rest is history! He credits much of his success to his daughter, who serves as his primary motivation. For Carl, one of the best aspects of working with Stevens Transport is the competitive compensation, which provides financial stability. His favorite part of being a driver is the solitude that comes with the job, allowing him the space to focus and enjoy the journey. Outside of work, Carl has a passion for photography and enjoys playing video games in his downtime.

Jermaine Levy Jr.

Runner-Up Grad Driver of The Month

Our New Grad Driver of the Month Runner-UP is independent contractor Jermaine Levy Jr.! Jermaine, a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since August of 2024, graduated with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy! In October, Jermaine ran an impressive 11,609 miles. He was introduced to Stevens Transport by his sister, who found the company online and recommended he apply. He credits his success to his son, who is his motivation to continue working hard and pushing forward. Jermaine’s advice to new drivers is simple: be prepared and keep the truck moving. One of the standout benefits of working at Stevens Transport for Jermaine is the opportunity to become an independent contractor, which offers greater flexibility and control. His most memorable moment at Stevens was working with his trainer, who provided valuable advice that has helped guide his careerand his favorite part of being a driver is the earning potential, which allows him to provide for his family. Outside of work, Jermaine enjoys spending quality time with his loved ones.

Jao Lasso & David Vandermark

1st Place Team of the Month

Please join us in congratulating our Team Drivers of the Month, Jao Lasso & David Vandermark! Jao started his journey at Stevens Transport in February of 2020, following his graduation from Roadmaster!  David began his journey with Stevens Transport in April 2024 after graduating from Five Star CDL Training. Together, they achieved an impressive 22,064 miles in October, ranking among the top teams in the company. They credit their success to strong communication, trust, and a commitment to working together as a seamless team. Their advice for other team drivers is to always support each other, stay patient, and maintain clear communication on the road. What they enjoy most about driving professionally is the opportunity to work as a team, the freedom of the open road, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with each delivery, safely and efficiently. Outside of work, Jao enjoys watching movies, while David enjoys spending time with his family.

Owen Smith

We are excited to congratulate Owen Smith, our distinguished Owner-Operator of the Month! Owen has been a valued member of the Stevens Transport team since February 1996 and graduated with his CDL from Stevens Driving Academy. In October, he logged an impressive 13,166 miles, positioning himself among the top Owner-Operators and earning this award! Throughout his impressive 27-year plus career with Stevens Transport, Owen, a Haul of Fame Three Million Miler, has established an exemplary track record with an impressive total of over 3,600,000 accident-free miles. He has successfully navigated leases, acquired trucks, and achieved numerous milestones in the industry. Owen’s remarkable dedication is further exemplified by his accomplishment of owning the largest private fleet contracted with Stevens Transport CD. Beyond his professional commitments, Owen enjoys spending his leisure time with family and embracing the outdoors.

Lianne Reyes Collins

Congratulations to Lianne Reyes-Collins, our accomplished Trainer of the Month! A graduate of Roadmaster CDL School, Lianne has been an integral part of the Stevens Transport driving force since November 2010. As a dedicated driver trainer, Lianne has successfully trained for over 11 years and earned a spot in the prestigious Stevens Transport Haul of Fame as a Million Miler. She has accumulated an impressive driving record with a total of 1,883,905 miles. Emphasizing safety and patience as pivotal aspects of a successful driving career, Lianne’s training tactics have proven effective. In October, an impressive distance of 18,044 miles, secured this well-deserved award. Outside of work, Lianne enjoys her leisure time by relaxing and watching Netflix.

Andre Simpson

Runner Up Trainer of the Month

Our Trainer of the Month Runner-Up is Andre Simpson! Andre has been a member of the Stevens Transport driving force since June of 2016, following his graduation from The CDL School in Miami! In October, Andre, a Million-Miler in the Haul of Fame, achieved an impressive milestone by driving 16,769 miles. Andre has spent eight years in truck driving, a career he chose to help grow and improve his lifestyle, after moving from Jamaica to Miami. Reaching one million miles is a milestone that reflects his hard work and dedication. He credits his family for their support and mentors for their guidance. As a driver trainer, Andre has taught 71 new drivers and has a focus topic on staying calm under pressure. He’s grateful to Stevens Transport and individuals like Allie Gilbert, Lorie Jensen, and Owen Eckblad for their encouragement.

1st Place Dedicated Driver of the Month

Dustin Effenbeck

Runner Up Dedicated Driver of the Month

We are proud to announce Dustin Effenbeck as our Dedicated Driver of the Month Runner-Up. Dustin’s commitment to excellence is evident both on and off the road. He joined the Stevens Transport team in January 2022 after earning his CDL from Trans in Charlotte North Carolina. In October, Dustin achieved an impressive 4,652 miles driven, showcasing his dedication and professionalism. Prior to joining Stevens, Justin served seven years in the U.S. Navy. We thank Dustin for his service and his ongoing contributions to our team. Dustin credits his success to the guidance and support he received from his driver trainers. His advice to new drivers is to ensure they are comfortable with the day-to-day on the road and are comfortable in solitude. Dustin appreciates Stevens Transport for offering a great career and being a great place to work. Outside of work, Dustin enjoys reading and playing video games.
